Lucky Drive

LuckyDrive

Lucky Drive  Is a driving school company. They focus on safe driving.

The Problem

Objective:

The client sought a modernized logo design that maintained a connection to their existing brand identity. The key requirement was to retain the recognizable car graphic element while reimagining the rest of the logo with a fresh, contemporary aesthetic.

Original Logo Description:
The original logo prominently features the initials “LD” in a bold serif font, with the word “LuckyDrive” positioned centrally. A compact car silhouette is integrated within the “D,” and the tagline “Din succes – Vores succes!” sits underneath in a classic serif typeface.

Client’s Goals for Redesign:

  1. Modernize the design while preserving the car as a central element.
  2. Create a clean, dynamic look that appeals to a contemporary audience.
  3. Ensure brand recognizability through subtle ties to the original logo.

Research

I explored modern color palettes to identify combinations that convey professionalism, dynamism, and trust, analyzing competitors in the automotive and transport industries to spot trending hues such as sleek neutrals and bold accent tones, while experimenting with gradients and monochrome schemes to create a contemporary feel that maintains strong brand recognition.

The Idea

Logo Design References:

  • Studied successful modern logo designs from various industries, emphasizing minimalism and clean aesthetics.
  • Noted how other brands integrated graphical elements like vehicles into their logos seamlessly.
  • Focused on typographic styles that paired well with automotive themes, balancing sharpness and readability

Simplification:

  • Evaluated the original logo’s elements to determine what could be streamlined without losing the brand’s essence.
  • Researched minimalistic design principles, prioritizing clean lines and uncluttered compositions.
  • Ensured that the car element remained visually distinct but harmonized with the overall layout.

Product

By completing the logo design with a car theme, I had the opportunity to redesign and modernize the car icon, keeping its essence intact. For the logo, I combined the words “Lucky” and “Drive” into a single, unified design. I aimed to create a vibrant color scheme that highlights a contrast between the letters “L” and “D.” Additionally, I prepared a style tile to help him visualize how he can implement both functional and perceptual elements into his business.
